Brentwood Community Foundation
Wellness Access Demonstration Project (WADP)

Description of the Organization
Brentwood Community Foundation's Wellness Access Demonstration Project has been serving Harris County for over four years. The bimonthly van serves about 1,000 clients per year, providing free health screening to the undeserved, homeless, and disabled. WADP's goal is to decrease morbidity and premature death through screening and referrals. The program is a collaboration between Brentwood Community Foundation and Communities Conquering Cancer, Prairie View School of Nursing, The Harris County Hospital District, The Harris County Public Health and Environmental Services Department, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, and St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital Health Systems. The unit also acts as a training facility for Prairie View A & M University.

Mission Statement
The mission of the Brentwood Wellness Demonstration Project (WADP) is to promote health and quality of life, utilizing community partnerships for prevention, early detection and treatment of avoidable chronic diseases.

The WADP's goal is to provide chronic disease screening and referral services to very low-to-moderate-income Harris County residents utilizing community partner-agencies and a community-based mobile clinic.
