The Charities to Collaborate with The Rose

The Charities has been selected to provide the project evaluation of The Rose's Empower Her program as part of the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) award of $998,000. CPRIT awarded a total of $3.5 million to fund cancer prevention programs that will reach underserved populations of Texas. In addition to The Rose,  Baylor College of Medicine, Hope Clinic, University of Houston and The University of Texas Health Science Center received grants to fund new cancer prevention programs through local clinics, health districts, community-based organizations, and academic institutions. Through research-informed grantmaking to Texas nonprofits, St. Luke's Episcopal Health Charities, a separate component of St. Luke’s Episcopal Health System, improves community health and reduces health disparities.  Our Center for Community-Based Research is dedicated to community-based participatory research practices that foster informed action, collaboration and empowerment for the medically underserved and other vulnerable populations.
