Charities Welcomes New Research Coordinator

The Charities is thrilled to welcome John Mark Cooks to the research team. Mr. Cooks was previously an elementary school teacher and is a the Community Principal Investigator for Galveston Island Community Research Advisory Committee (GICRAC).

Mr. Cooks will assist in research projects as designated by Charities directors.This includes development and management of research activities including instrument development, record keeping, data collection, evaluation, analysis, and interpretation of data. 
        



Through research-informed grantmaking to Texas nonprofits, St. Luke's Episcopal Health Charities, a separate component of St. Luke’s Episcopal Health System, improves community health and reduces health disparities.  Our Center for Community-Based Research is dedicated to community-based participatory research practices that foster informed action, collaboration and empowerment for the medically underserved and other vulnerable populations.
